Filter Falls for Biological Filtration Inside A Waterfall
A clever way to include a biolfiter system into a pond with a waterfall is to use a Filter Fall. The water from the pond pump runs through the Filter Fall which contains biomedia and overflows back into the pond via a lip or spillway. The width of the spillway determines the waterfall flow that the system can handle best.

Atlantic Pond Filter Falls include a chamber through which water flows up. The chamber has a filter mat which traps solid particles. After the solids have been removed water flows through the bag containing the biomedia and then out over the spillway. The ideal biofilter media is Alfagrog also called Supra in USA . The filter fall system has numerous advantages over a conventional pond filter ... not least of which is that it can be made part of a waterfall system.
